Pink Lipstick

Elizabeth Taylor once famously said: “Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick, and deal with it.” Not that I am opposed to the drink part, but I certainly do agree with the lipstick portion of her quote.

Lipstick has always been that little splurge I would buy when I needed a little pick me up.  My go to color a pinky-beige or mauve color…so much so that it’s a joke amongst my sisters and even my kids that I am buying basically the same color in different tubes.

My Favorite Products Left to Right

// Givenchy // Sisley // Cle De Peau – 1 Bamboo //

Givenchy – 106 // Charlotte Tilbury – Liv it up // Serge Lutens – 26 // Senna  //

And apparently according to a study from Covergirl, the colors we choose can alter the impression you give others. Researchers learned how people judge us — on both our attractiveness and personality — depending on the lip shade we’re sporting.

Here’s what they found:

RED: CREATIVE AND DARING, AMBITIOUS AND DRIVEN

PINK: SOCIABLE AND FUN-LOVING, ATTRACTIVE AND PRETTY

PLUM: INDEPENDENT, DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE, AMBITIOUS AND DRIVEN, CULTURED AND REFINED, ATTRACTIVE AND PRETTY

NUDE: WARM AND CARING, DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE, SWEET AND NICE, ATTRACTIVE AND PRETTY

Well, I can tell you this, I never wear Red, but perhaps I should the next time I go in for a big meeting!

What’s your go to color saying about you?
