At this point, I would say I’ve gotten pretty good at the whole Holiday thing. Between the meals, parties, gifting and events, it can be overwhelming but I’m arming you with some holiday hacks to get your through the holidays with ease!
First and foremost, let’s talk holiday decor. If you’re hosting people for a Christmas Dinner or Holiday soiree’, don’t feel like you have to spend a ton of money on your table decor. My dear friend, celebrity chef and entertainologist Lulu Powers says all you need is a fun patterned tablecloth (or even scarves or blankets!) and fun accents, such as bold red roses, and gold plates and serveware to add a pop of color! Add some fun candy canes and place cards with people’s names on them for an extra personal touch that your guests will remember. Read all of her tips here.
Believe it or not, one way to be the hostess with the mostess is to be hands-off and create a DIY bar where people can create their own cocktails. Add some snacks, such as chocolate-covered almonds, potato chips, red vines and more so no one gets hangry. A fun holiday touch? Add gold flakes to your cocktails and keep the seasons spirit bright!
The key to keeping your guests happy? Good appetizers. You don’t need to slave away in the ktichen to make these tasty bites. Grab the recipes for Lulu Powers’ Beet Cured Salmon Toast, Cilantro Pumpkin Seed Pesto Crostini, BLT’s on Romaine and even Handcrafted Ice cubes here! Yum!
Last but definitely not least, make sure you have a holiday outfit that you feel good in and is comfortable. Whether you’re looking to dress up, or keep it casual, checkout some of my favorite looks here.
