Recently I got the chance to have my sweet friend Nyakio show me how to make her Homemade Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub. Bonus for you–she’s sharing her family recipe with us so you can make it at home.
Nyakio Homemade Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub RecipePrint Recipe
1 Cup Ground Kenyan Coffee (Kenyan Coffee has a Citrus note, so no “bitter coffee smell)
1 Cup of Organic Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons of Organic Avocado Oil
2 Tablespoons Organic & Refined Coconut Oil
(For extra hydration add a few more drops of the oils
In a sealable jar mix all dry ingredients. Slowly add in oils and mix into a paste. Massage onto skin in a circular motion to slough off dry and dull skin. Enjoy your soft and GLOWING skin! Hello ageless beauty!
It’s actually the perfect thing to make during the holidays for little stocking stuffers or hostess gifts.
Nyakio knows a thing or two about beauty. Her passion started when she was a very young girl visiting her grandmother in Kenya. It was her grandmother, a coffee farmer, who taught Nyakio her first beauty secret – to exfoliate dry skin using coffee beans and sugarcane.
She was also inspired and influenced by her grandfather, a medicine man, who extracted oils from natural resources to treat the skin.
As she grew up she realized that while many cultures were represented in the beauty industry, the sophistication of Africa was missing.
She decided to fill the void in the market and curated her family’s recipes and translated cultural traditions from 13 countries, incorporating them into Nyakio™, which is handmade with ethically and sustainable sourced natural ingredients from around the world, that have been used for generations for their hydrating, revitalizing, smoothing and anti-aging benefits.
If you don’t have time to make the Homemade Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub, you can always simply buy any of her beautiful Nyakio™ products! They make perfect gifts, but be sure and get some for yourself.
Enjoy your soft and GLOWING skin! Hello ageless beauty!
