Four Ways To Kick Off a Fit 2019

We’re into the second full week of the New Year, and for so many finding an exercise routine that sticks can often be one of the toughest things to maintain. Living here in Los Angeles we’re exposed to so many fun and different types of workouts and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!

For me, especially when I was working the crazy hours of live television and trying to raise twins, the shorter more intense workouts helped me stay in shape.  That’s why I fell in love with Platefit. It’s a high intensity 27 minute workout, that equates to an hour long routine. The plates use technology (developed for astronauts and athletes) to amplify your workout experience through constant vibrations…basically it vibrates 20 to 40 times a second.

Next up, boxing!  It is such a great way to work up a sweat, sculpt your body, and build up your endurance and strength.  I took my first class at Box Union in Santa Monica and absolutely loved it! The average workout burns between 600-800 calories per hour, and it’s really great for toning muscles without gaining any bulk.  Another benefit is improving your hand eye coordination and core stability. Plus it’s basically like therapy, I gotta tell you punching that bag feels really really good! You can read more about it here.

It was just about a year ago that I profiled Simone de la Rue, the creator of Body by Simone.  How much life can change in just a year, now this amazing woman has opened up yet a new studio in London and working on her biggest project to date, about to become a mommy!  Read more about why I love her and her program here.

And finally from the why not category of exercise…Goat Yoga!  I mean seriously it was the cutest thing and surprisingly it’s not just an LA thing.  It’s a full on yoga class filled with pygmy goats who jump on and over you, crawl beneath you, and leave you class with a smile on your face, and hopefully no goat pee on your yoga mat.
