Gucci Osteria: Rodeo Rooftop Where Fashion Meets Food
I think we can all agree that Gucci makes a great pair of loafers, purse, scarf, belt…you name it when it comes to what we put on our bodies Gucci is the gold standard. But now what goes into your body is also a priority for Gucci.
The famed Italian fashion house opened its first restaurant in the United States right before quarantine last year…and the minute it opened back up I made sure to check it out…and have been back several times over the past year for lunch and even the most romantic Valentine’s Day dinner ever.
The open air restaurant is located on the roof of the Rodeo Drive boutique. It is the first North American restaurant for famed Michelin three-star chef Massimo Bottura…and his second in collaboration with the fashion icon, the first being in Florence.
The L.A. kitchen is helmed by Mattia Agazzi; he was previously the sous chef at Gucci Osteria in Florence. The menu is rooted in Italy, but with references to other cuisines found in Southern California.
It is outfitted with Gucci-patterned wallpaper, elegant red marble, plush velvet banquettes and vintage-looking place settings, many of which are inspired by the Florence osteria.
The menu changes, but standouts for me have been the handmade tortellini and the risotto camouflaged as pizza…and the mini hamburger is out of this world.
This is definitely a pricey meal, especially if you get the tasting menu paired with wine…but it is a meal I promise you’ll never forget!
