All the Pretty Details of My Happily Lisa Luncheon

I love a good party, even if that meant throwing one in honor of myself…is that weird?

Well it’s what I did one rainy Tuesday in March to celebrate the first few months of my website “Happily Lisa”. After these past couple of months I feel like I’ve learned a lot, yet I know nothing, and am still not exactly sure what I am doing. Having said that I still wanted to keep creating and telling stories which is why I am sticking with it, and I brought together a group of inspiring women who all work in various areas of the social arena.

The venue was a breathtaking estate in Beverly Hills (yes someone actually lives here!) It’s the home of Dana Slatkin, also known as the Beverly Hills Farm Girl. For years, she’s held private cooking classes in her warm french kitchen, and is opening a new restaurant in Westwood within the next year and continue cooking classes there. Stay tuned!

I wanted my guests to leave the event with some new knowledge and since food is something we all love, I thought it would be fun to show them how to make the food we were going to eat.  We enjoyed everything from a refreshing Blackberry Lavender Champagne Cocktail, to Crabless Cakes, Vegan Pasta Bolognese and Ginger Chocolate Souffles. All the guests left with recipe cards of the delicious food we ate, plus the beautiful menu from Belles Lettres Calligraphy. Stay tuned for the recipes!

A big thanks to A2B Table for the amazing table set up. A2B Table is a unique online resource where you can rent everything you need for a casual party or a giant elaborate celebration. They’ll even style your table from flowers to flat wear and set it up too! You can directly buy the items from their website. Here’s what was used for my event:

Charger: Bee
Dinner plate: Grey Dorothy
Salad/ dinner plate: Pink Dorothy
Glassware: Pink Debutante + Gold Rim Festive Highball
Flatware: Brushed Gold Square Flatware
Napkin: Ivory Lyzette Dinner Napkin

Lark Farnum provided the gorgeous floral arrangements for the dining tables and kitchen! The designer and owner, Pinky Farnum, works with each client individually to create the perfect ambiance that not only showcases the beauty of seasonal blooms, but reflects the unique personalities of each client. They did just that for my event and I was very pleased with their work and creativity!

All of the pretty pictures came courtesy of the lovely Sanaz Photography, who’s light and airy aesthetic captured the beauty of this spectacular luncheon!

In addition to taking home some delicious recipes I sent each lady home with candles from my favorite candle company Voluspa.  This Rose Petal Ice Cream scented candle comes in a beautiful oversized tin that kinda feels like a giant ice cream cone!  Thanks Traci Arntsen for always making every special occasion even better!

And I couldn’t have done any of it without the lovely ladies of Be Inspired PR. Taylor Hane & Katie Corrington are two gorgeous blondes who are cool as cucumbers when it came to the rain and calming my nerves about whether people would actually show up in the yucky weather. The ladies kept everything running smoothly while the guests arrived, and I think everyone felt transported to a magical garden for a few hours on a rainy afternoon that eventually gave way to sunshine. Even though I didn’t see it, I am sure a rainbow made an appearance as well.

The attention to detail at this luncheon was spectacular. The signage and stir sticks were laser cut wood from Delovely Details – yes, can we talk about how pretty they are? We wanted the day to be bright to welcome this gorgeous Spring season, with a touch of chicness. Here is what Pinky (the floral designer) had to say in regards to her inspiration:

“I really wanted the florals to feel fresh and like the embodiment of springtime. I used clementines to play with the cooking element of the event. Super seasonal and colorful florals like sweet peas and butterfly ranunculus enhanced the springtime vibe. Mixing several smaller arrangements together on the centers of the tables made the tables feel unique and playful. I loved using the florals to enhance an already gorgeous venue and the beautiful rentals from A2B tables.”

It was the perfect way to celebrate, amongst fascinating, gorgeous and intelligent women who have inspired me even more to carry on with this creative journey of mine. It was so wonderful to see all of the guests interacting, exchanging business cards, and I’m truly overwhelmed by the support that I felt after this day. Stay tuned on social for some more sneak peeks of this truly magical day.
